Frequently Asked Questions

Apostille FAQ.

What is an apostille?
An apostille is a certification issued by the Panamanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Cancillería) that authenticates a Panamanian document for use in countries that are members of the Hague Convention. It eliminates the need for additional legalization.
Can I apostille a foreign document in Panama?
No. An apostille must be issued by the country where the document was issued. If you need a foreign document legalized for use in Panama, a different process applies (consular legalization). We can guide you through that as well.
Does the U.S. accept the Panama apostille?
Yes. The United States joined the Hague Convention in 2023, so the Panama apostille is now fully recognized in the U.S. for use before USCIS, universities, employers, and financial institutions.
Do I need to be in Panama to get an apostille?
No. With a notarized power of attorney, we can handle the apostille on your behalf even if you are outside Panama. We coordinate the entire process remotely via WhatsApp.
